This esteemed event, occurring in 2026 and succeeding the 28th National Urban Planning Conference, is organised by the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Co-hosted by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning as well as the Urban and Regional Planning Student Association (PEWIBAWA), this conference serves as a strategic platform for thought leaders, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to engage in critical discourse regarding the challenges and opportunities presented by rapid urbanisation. The objective of iNUPC 2026 is to promote innovative, sustainable, and inclusive urban planning solutions that address the intricate dynamics influencing cities, communities, economies, climate change, and public policy.
ASEAN, or the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, - is a regional organization comprising ten member states dedicated to promoting peace, stability, and economic growth. While iNUPC 2026 focuses on the unique urban fabric of Southeast Asia, the conference’s themes of sustainable and adaptive growth offer transformative insights that resonate globally. While rooted in the Southeast Asian context, iNUPC 2026 aims to contribute valuable regional perspectives to the global discourse on sustainable and adaptive urban growth.
